I have both lived in and worked with elderly patients in their home as well as in Assisted Living. As a companion and caregiver, I cooked and prepared meals, drove to doctor appointments, shopping, organized daily medications, helped get the person ready for the morning or bedtime. I was a companion as well and would spend time talking to the person if they were depressed or lonely and in need of conversation.
