About Catherine

Hi, I'm Cate! I am passionate about early childhood and helping children build strong attachments, express needs, and build social-emotional skills. Earning a Child and Family Studies degree from Baylor taught me theories of child development and best practices. As a teacher in infant and toddler classrooms at the NAEYC accredited Piper Center, I put those concepts into action! As a nanny, I have continual communication with parents, maintain a strong bond with a child, and use parents' preferred behavioral management techniques (I also am experienced in Conscious Discipline). I enjoy creating activities that are tailored to children and provide sensory input. Providing warmth, reliability, and safety are essential for a child to learn, explore, and grow healthfully; those priorities reflect in my childcare practice.
