About Cassie

Since the age of 14, I have been caring for young children on an as need basis. I began by watching my youth pastor's three toddler children while his wife tutored in a different section of their home. Having that opportunity at a young age allowed me to appreciate how rewarding childcare can be. Since then, I have had various jobs of increasing responsibilities - the most demanding being caring for a girl with special needs. At the age of 16, I taught third grade girls at Bible School once a week during the school year. My tasks at Bible School included lesson planning, activity planning and keeping the 11 girls interested and excited about Jesus. The next year, I was required to bring a child to school twice a week for a family living class. I was soon asked to nanny for her and her 5-year-old brother for the summer after I graduated high school - I continued to nanny for their family over the following two summers. While caring for them, I became certified in first aid, CPR/AED, and lifeguarding. Along with the jobs I have already highlighted, I have babysat many neighbors and cousins over the past several years. I had most of these experiences while living in Pennsylvania where I grew up. After high school graduation, I moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia for college, and that is where I have resided ever since.
