After watching my grandmother go through hospice and in-home care, I was inspired to become an in-home caregiver with IHSS. Since then, I have had the pleasure of working with seniors in various ways. I started with errands and cleaning and after gaining experience, began working side by side with hospice nurses to ensure comfort for my patients. I have even had a patient come back off of hospice after six months. She healed of course with the aid of medicine and her hospice nurse, but I believe that compassion and kindness in everyone involved in patient's care can contribute to healing and a lifted spirit. I enjoy meeting and working with people from all walks of life and know that my patients positively affect me just as much as I do them.
