About Carrie

I have personal and professional experience in caretaking for seniors. I have been working for Ulster BOCES for the past 3. 5 years doing School Communications and Public Relations/Information, which I am now doing part-time. I enjoy all kinds of people and learning a person's story and background. I can manage different personality types and circumstances. I have a light, bubbly demeanor and a playful sense of humor, which I often deploy to distract an agitated or upset person. I have a long background in journalism and enjoy talking/listening to many subjects. I am a forever student! I believe in engaging the person to the greatest extent possible in the moment, whether that means doing puzzles, preparing meals together, watching a show or listening to music they enjoy, playing card games, or just folding socks in a basket together over and over. I have experience with caretaking for those with Alzheimer's/dementia. Please ask some questions!
