Experience: 10 yrs
I have enjoyed being a caregiver for over 25 years. I can help with mobility transfers of all kinds, including Hoyer lifts and Sahara steady. I also have experience with Dementia , Alzheimer's, medication management, Parkinson's, wound care, hospice, ventilator and trachea care, and clients who just need companionship. I can also help with staying active and personal hygiene, including bathing and all ADLs. I am a pretty good cook, and I do housework. I believe my job as a caregiver is to make the client's life the best that it can be.. mentally, emotionally, and physically with patience, kindness, and compassion. I have excellent references. I dont mind traveling.
Carrie took care of my 73-year-old parents this summer. My dad has Parkinson’s disease, and my mom had just broken her back. After a month and a half of caring for my parents, I was relieved to find Carrie on this platform. After speaking with her on the phone and checking five other references, I felt confident that my parents would be in good hands, and they were. I was able to return home, two hours away, knowing that Carrie was there and that my parents were safe and well cared for. Carrie attended to both of my parents’ needs with compassion, skill, and genuine attentiveness. She understood how to manage my dad’s fall risk and took safety very seriously. She even helped me determine the best walker for him. According to both of my parents, she was incredibly attentive a wonderful companion, not to mention a great storyteller. She's easy to relate to. Carrie cooked meals, took my parents grocery shopping, accompanied them to appointments, and helped with the many day-to-day needs. My parents spoke about Carrie as though she had been part of their lives for years. I also felt completely at ease with her expertise, judgment, and intuition. Carrie is a wonderful human being and a wise, practical, seasoned, and deeply caring caregiver. She helped our family get through a challenging summer, and we are all so grateful to her. I recommend her wholeheartedly.
