After a long and rewarding career, I have retired from my professional life and can think of nothing better than to continue my relationships and love of children and their families by caring for your precious babies. I have master's level degrees in general and special education and public school administration. I retired in 2019 as owner/director/therapist of Nantucket Pediatric Therapy Center. Carrie is amazing. She has worked with our now almost two year old for about a year. She has made such a difference with his development and has also helped us navigate a speech delay. We are so grateful for her and our baby loves her. She’s just the best. 

We had the pleasure of working with Carrie from when our baby was 2.5 months old until he was 5.5 months—right up until he started daycare (which we had planned and committed to before even hiring a nanny). From the very beginning, she treated our baby like her own—with so much love, patience, and genuine care. She helped rock him to sleep, played with him when he was awake, and often sang nursery rhymes to him, which he absolutely loved. One of the things I really appreciated was how she taught us about early speech development—like how to talk back to our baby to encourage babbling—and it was the sweetest thing to see him get more talkative and hear him "chatting" with her and having fun. She’s also super observant—she was the first to notice our baby had started teething (way earlier than we expected!), which was so helpful for us as first-time parents. And she’s thoughtful about all the little things, like always washing her hands when she arrived, which we really appreciated.

She was always on time, super reliable, and great at communicating. Every day she’d give us a quick, helpful rundown of how things went, and she was always willing to share tips or advice when we had questions. Beyond being an amazing nanny, she brought so much warmth and positive energy into our home. It’s clear she truly loves kids and cares deeply about the people around her. We feel so lucky to have had her support during those early months—and even luckier to now call her a friend.

We feel so lucky to have had Carrie as our son's nanny for a year. She started working with us just before his first birthday.

Carrie's background in childhood development immediately impressed us. Our son is particularly talkative, and we give Carrie the credit for that. She spent a lot of time talking to him, reading to him, taking him to the library and park, and playing music for him. She's also taught him some sign language, manners (please and thank you), and how to take responsibility (cleaning up after himself, saying sorry when he does something wrong).

If you have a chance to work with Carrie, take it. We'd hire her again in a heartbeat.

Carrie has been an absolute dream to work with! She started caring for my infant son at 4 months, and will be with us until he turns one when he starts daycare for the social interaction. I now consider Carrie a part of the family and friend, and know that we will still be getting together for play dates beyond our working relationship. Our little one has done great with her from the moment Carrie arrived. On day one, he put his head on her shoulder like he just felt comfortable with her. And I felt instantly comfortable as well. I wanted someone who not only had great professional experience with children, but has raised her own children. So Carrie has been very helpful as you go through all the many unknowns with little ones. She helps me stay calm and make good decisions for him. It has been a great teamwork over these past months, and we will miss having Carrie with us everyday!

Carrie started taking care of our 2 mo. old son in Feb 2020. From the moment we met her we knew she was the perfect fit and had complete trust in her. Since, Carrie has become family and a lifelong friend. She taught our son sign language first and now his speech is developing so well because of how much Carrie stimulates and teaches him. Carrie was a pro at feeding, nap times, baths, etc. She is ALWAYS on time. I (first time mom at 36) learned a lot from her on how to raise an infant. She gave me so many ideas on ways to play and teach my son in an interactive and positive way. She is kind and patient, it's obvious she loves to be a nanny. My son walked at 10 mo. and she had no problem keeping up since. My parents are staying with us for 3 mo. to make up for lost time with their grandson due to the pandemic. After that we start daycare. So we were forced to let Carrie go, but the next family to hire her will be so lucky, she is a true gem!

If I could rate Carrie 10 stars I would! We first contacted Carrie to watch our son when he was only 10 weeks old. We spoke on the phone and I instantly felt a connection. She watched our son 2-3 nights a week for about 5 weeks. She was always on time and professional. She was able to take my crying son and calm him down on multiple occasions so that we could leave the house without worry. She was always so loving, provided a tender caring touch, and was so comfortable with him. She would send us text updates which made us feel so at ease being nervous first time parents. We recommended Carrie to a friend who said she was awesome with her kids. We wish we could keep Carrie with us forever!!

I can't possibly say enough good things about Carrie. From our first phone conversation, she put me completely at ease and made me feel like my two young children would be in good hands. Taking care of a teething 1 year old girl and a stranger-danger-prone 2 year old boy is not easy, but Carrie did so effortlessly. She brought fun toys to win my son over, and he still asks about her. Carrie watched our children multiple evenings so we could enjoy adult time on our family vacation, and she was so wonderful my cousin hired her to watch her two young kids, as well.  I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

I needed to find a sitter while I was on vacation in Nantucket for my 5 year old daughter and 10 month old son. I struck out finding someone I knew, so I decided to look into Care.com and a some other local babysitting agencies. I have never tried that before. 

Thank goodness I found Carynne shortly after. We hired her twice during our stay and she was amazing. I was so relieved. 

She brought toys and books to engage the kids with. She made it clear that she was happy to help me feed kids and get them ready for bed. My otherwise cranky clingy baby totally lightened up in her arms. Miraculous! Her energy was warm and light and put everyone-kids and parents at ease.

Carrie is a phenomenal caregiver who babysat my two toddlers (3 and 4.5) numerous evenings over our recent vacation. She has a wonderful ability to connect to children instantly and it was so amazing to leave the kids with a smile and wave as they sat playing with Miss Carrie. She was always responsive when I checked in during the evening, punctual and dependable. I never worried about a last minute cancellation or change of plans, as sometimes happens with the post-college aged sitters with very active social calendars. Carrie is a very kind, classy woman - you'll be lucky to hire her!
