I heard great things about Carol from a friend who hired her to take care of his young daughter who was recovering from surgery and receiving chemotherapy. I first contacted her when I was suddenly and terribly ill, and I needed someone to care for my newborn and my toddler while my partner cared for me. She showed up at our house in an hour with Gatorade in hand, and stayed for most of a weekend until I was well enough to manage on my own. She was able to dive in with both kids and was super in keeping them engaged, entertained, fed, and on track. After that weekend, I asked her to babysit on several occasions, and eventually I asked if she would consider a nanny/household helper position with us. I'm so glad that she accepted and can say that she has had a tremendous positive impact on our family. She is instrumental in getting the kids ready in the mornings, handles drop-offs, and also often takes care of both kids on days when they are home from school. She is tender and engaged with our infant, and unflappable, positive, creative, and gentle but persistent in how she interacts with our toddler. She is very supportive of upholding our parenting philosophy and methods. She is also a great help to me in keeping the household running smoothly, including ways to improve things (she is helping me with a garage clean-out project at present). I could write paragraphs of the ways she is terrific; I will just note that along with everything else, she has been very reliable and an excellent communicator. I have no complaints and highly recommend her; we feel lucky to have her.
