Throughout my life I've had various animals. From horses and cows to fish and a tortoise. I used to live on a farm where we had 140+ hens and 1 rooster. I love animals so much because they're always there for you. They're loyal companions who can understand you on a deeper level and comfort you when you really need it. My late cat, Ozzy, proved that to me when one night I had broken up with my first boyfriend and couldn't stop sobbing. He wasn't usually particularly affectionate per se, but that night was different. He jumped up on my bed and crawled into my lap and immediately started purring. It made me smile in that sad moment. I cherish that memory because just a week later I had to make the decision to put him down so he didn't have to suffer from FIV anymore. Animals mean so much to me and I'm so happy they were out on this Earth because I think without them we would all go insane. I know without my Great Dane, two cats, and tortoise, I'd go crazy.
