About Carla

Hi! My name is Carla. I am a Kindergarten teacher from late August-early June. I mainly enjoy my grands/family/animals/river during the summer but, I do have a little extra time for summer work! I enjoy tutoring or providing refresher/prep courses for K/1. I am also open to one-time childcare jobs. I genuinely love children and believe in a Nel Noddings approach to learning, which is one that is based on forming a meaningful relationship first, so that learning can easily follow. Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the heart of my 20+ years of teaching experience. As a certified teacher, I believe every student possesses unique strengths, and my goal is to foster a genuine love for learning rather than simple memorization. I will adapt my methods-using visual aids, discussions, or hands-on practice-to fit your specific needs. Open communication is my priority, as I value the collaborative relationship between us.
