About Carla

I'd describe my personality as soothing, creative, and silly. I think children are brilliant, fun loving, innately empathetic, and are our future. They are deserving of a childhood that sets them up for success! I am enrolled part-time in graduate school. As long as I am able to get to my DC campus in time and have my coursework completed, I am flexible. I started working with kids when I was 13. I was responsible at a young age and continued providing childcare and attendant care for individuals with disabilities until now. I'm an advocate for inclusion and the provision of supplemental support for individuals with divergent needs to receive equitable opportunity. I fought for support benefits in my previous role as a caseworker. In my spare time, I study human rights, diplomacy, and advocacy. I enjoy creative outlets, watching movies, time outdoors, and cuddling pets! My skills include emotional redirection, consistency, and ensuring children feel seen and heard.
