About Carla

Hello! Thanks for checking out my page! My availability will begin mid October. I've been working as a home birth assistant for the past year and have a keen interest in working with newborns, infants, and providing doula focused work. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Early Childhood Development. My approach in working with children is rooted in creating a safe container for exploration, growth, making mistakes and learning through experience. I place a strong emphasis on attunement, emotional intelligence, and communication. Most importantly, I believe in bringing out the silly and learning through play. I've worked in ABA with children on the autism spectrum and developmental delays, as a daycare teacher, wilderness therapy field guide, outdoor education instructor, and have nannied for the past few years. I love providing hands-on experiences, outdoor exploration, and minimal to no screen time.
