About Carissa

Veteran English and Physical Education teacher with 25 years of classroom experience offering private, in-person tutoring and structured fitness sessions for elementary, middle and high school students. I specialize in essay writing, reading comprehension, organization, study skills, and academic confidence. In addition to academic support, I offer developmentally appropriate PE and fitness sessions that focus on coordination, strength, routine, and confidence-building movement. Fitness sessions take place in a dedicated spare-room training space within my home that has been fully set up as a private gym, allowing for safe, structured, and supervised movement. Academic sessions are individualized and results-focused. Small-group options are available for students of similar age and ability. Families typically work with me short-term to help students regain confidence, improve performance, and build positive habits. Availability is limited.
