About Cara

Hi there, I'm Cara and I'd be honored to work alongside you! I'm currently in a Master's in Social Work program through Smith College, and am an intern at SFUSD. I have over five years of experience of direct support with older adults and folks with disabilities. I have worked in many roles from in-home caregiving, to teaching, care coordination, and advocacy. I most recently worked at the Center for Independent Living supporting people to connect to resources, and prior to that I was the lead art teacher and DSP through the Arc of San Francisco. I love getting to know the strengths of the people I'm working with, and collaborating with them and their families on how best to achieve their goals. I consider myself patient and warm, and I take a person-centered approach in working with my clients. I have a broad range of experience so I'm comfortable with just about any kind of care work, and love working with people to sustain and build independent living skills.
