About Camille Joy

I'd describe my personality as witty, fun, and loving. I like working with kids because they are delightful and honest, they're fun and willing to try new things, and because they find me helpful, relatable, and interesting. I'm looking for an opportunity to help a family engage their child(dren) with outdoor physical activities, learning, and reducing screen time. I started working with kids when I became a teacher 9 years ago and decided to pursue mentoring 7 years ago and sports based youth development 4 years ago. In my spare time, I like to run, bike, walk on the 606 Bloomingdale Trail or Lakefront, study, and watch stand-up comedy. One thing you should know about me is I am fun and stern. I command respect quickly and easily because my intentions, expectations and boundaries are modeled and clear.
