Hello! My name is Calder. I somehow found myself working with kids when I was just a kid myself. I started volunteering at a educational nature center at the age of 12 and quickly realized I loved teaching, both in formal and informal settings! In the many years since I have been the Program Director (at aforementioned nature center, earned my degree in Environmental Education (a science/nature focused education program) and currently work as the Program Director for a local environmental non-profit. Sprinkled in there was some odd babysitting and nannying, and I am looking to get back into to have some more time with kiddos and save up for my own family down the road. We love Calder! And our 4-year-old especially loves Calder! Finding him has been such a gift for our family. We hired him to care for our son about 20hrs per week to fill in preschool gaps. Calder is kind, calm, smart, mature, and unflappable. He can handle any kind of activity and any kind of play, from quiet and creative to silly and boisterous. And crucially, he knows how to navigate the highs and lows of little-kid emotions with patience and care. He communicates perfectly. He is always on time. I wholeheartedly recommend Calder.
