I am majoring in Special education right now, and I have worked with kids with special needs for about 8 years. I worked in a special education classroom all through middle school and high school as well as ran clubs in middle school and high school with the sole purpose of having mainstream students interacting and being friends with children in the special education program. I also have volunteered in an after school program called Opportunity Knocks that works with teen/young adults and having them interact and do activities in the community. I also have worked with a boy for about 5 years, and have known him for 8, and he has fetal alcohol syndrome, and also worked with another teenage boy who is autistic and diabetic and have known him for 7 and worked with him for about 4 years. My passion is working with kids with special needs, and I plan to do it for the rest of my life and as a career.
