I have volunteered at Hines, VA for about 5 years, accumulating over 1,000 hours of community service, and received an award for the work that I have done with seniors. I also work with people with developmental disabilities, which I also feel like helps working as a caregiver. I have been a respite for people who do feeding through tubes, needed help managing their diabetes, changing diapers, and dealt with people who have epilepsy. Between the experience I have had through Hines VA, and my current job, and the respite work I have done, I think it gives me the skills to handle any task when it comes to being a caregiver. Plus, I just love people in general!
