Served as both a companion and a friend to a 60-year-old gentleman in an assisted living facility 3 days a week as well as serving as the family's advocate (located hours away). Experience as well as a volunteer in a memory care unit with a group of multiple seniors with varying levels of Alzheimer's / Dementia. Lastly, past family issues dealing with Dementia and Alzheimer's helped me to recognize the need of additional support for families in need of assistance/errands for their loved ones. Thank you.

Bruce was a godsend for our family! My husband has early onset Alzheimer's and after we moved him into a care facility we wanted to provide him with a one-on-one companion several times a week. We found Bruce on Care.com and hoped he would fill that void. Not only did he fill that void, he became a significant part of my husband's happiness and overall well-being. His warm, open personality and his great sense of humor immediately endeared him to all of us. As my husband's disease progressed and Covid limited our access to visit, Bruce helped in every way possible...from running errands to pick up snacks, to searching out elastic waist pants (when zippers became to complex)...to loading family photos on a digital picture frame while we could not visit in person...the list of Bruce's contributions is long, compassionate and incredibly thoughtful. I could not have asked for a more wonderful person to help my husband!
