I am visiting Bloomington, IN, for one year as a visiting scholar with my 12-year-old daughter. We are from South Korea, so English is our second language, and my daughter was not familiar with the U.S. educational system. Britt, who has experience as a school teacher, has been a great help—not only with my daughter’s homework but also by supporting and guiding her through the challenges of school life, making her experience much more enjoyable. To improve my English-speaking skills, I also asked Britt to have free conversations with me for 10–20 minutes. It was a great pleasure—not just for practicing English, but also for gaining a deeper understanding of American culture, history, and politics.
