I have been working with children, teens, and adults with special needs for over six years. While attending college for a degree in Psychology, I spent three years working for a program as a recreational coordinator, planning and hosting special events for teens and adults with various diagnoses. After graduation college, I began working as therapeutic staff support for children diagnosed with autism, PDD, and similar diagnosis. For three years I worked one on one with the children and their families implementing treatment plans specifically developed for each child under the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. In addition, I also worked as a program instructor at a day program for adults with special needs for three years. I managed the daily affairs of each of my clients as well as worked with them on their personal goals, daily living skills, as well as cooking and exercise activities.
