About Bridget

I am currently a medical assisting student. I am learning to work with people of all age ranges and physical/mental ability levels. I do not have any official job experience with senior care. However I have played an active role in caring for my grandmother when I was in high school, and years beyond. I completed tasks she could not such as grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. I have been a lifelong caregiver to my mother who has MS. I learned skills such as conducting safe transfers for people with limited mobility. As her condition progressed, I learned how to use a mechanical lift to help with transfers. Eventually my mother's conditioned deteriorated to the point where it is no longer safe for her to live at home and we had to put her into a skilled nursing home. I was my father's caregiver as he battled cancer and eventually lost his battle. In the end months, he needed around the clock care. I am thankful to have been able to get enough help to keep him at home where he lived and died in peace. I am passionate about helping people. I understand the importance of keeping loved ones at home. I wish to help family members keep family members at home. I am trained in first aid, and CPR. I am a fast learner.
