About Bridget

I am a 53-year-old mother of 2 grown children, and now 2 grandchildren. I returned to college at 45 and became a NYS certified and licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant and worked in a school setting. Then along came COVID closures and virtual therapy. I missed the direct contact with children yet saw the benefits of also having parent interactions. I decided until things "got back to normal" I'd pursue providing child care and assist with virtual studies. I ended up working for a family with preschool aged kids and loved it! I've since ended up working for families with infants, and toddlers as well. My background experience included working in a social work setting, providing home child care and working as a Teacher Aide in a public elementary school with typical students and those with special needs for 15 years. I enjoy being able to share my wisdom as a parent, while also respecting the wishes of the parents and providing developmentally appropriate activities for the kids.

We left NYC for the greener pastures of upstate New York during the pandemic so we had to find new childcare. We knew we would hire Bridget after our first meeting; not only was she a lovely person, but she also had a lot of experience as a Childhood Occupational Therapist. Bridget worked for us full time from September/20 to August/21. She is without a doubt the the best childcare provider that we've ever had. Bridget is kind, caring, extremely patient, timely/dependable and engaging. Our children, L (5y) and J (2y), benefited greatly from her loving care. All of her attention was completely focused on the children when w/ them. She utilized her experience as a childhood OT to teach them all kinds of skills through fun games. She drove our daughter to/from preschool and on 'remote' days would ensure she was engaged. Art, toys and outdoor adventures were on the docket every day. Our kids adore her and if we hadn't moved to FL Bridget would still be part of the family.
