About Brenda

I was a biomedical engineering major (pre-med) before switching to art history in undergrad. I have a full year of biology, calculus, and gen chem under my belt along with some physics. I have experience with AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Spanish Language, AP Spanish Literature, AP Biology and AP Calculus. I completed my undergrad in Art History at UCLA with a minor in Society and Genetics. Currently pursuing a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at USC. I have experience using SPSS, SAS, and STATA for data analysis. I've previously tutored 1st graders, high schoolers, and graduate students. In my experience the best way to learn is to teach! I approach learning through critical thinking and problem solving. I like to have students teach me how they understand things in order to understand them. I have been both a tutor and a tutee and believe in concept learning over memorization.
