I am a retired nurse with 20 years with med surg experience, insurance experience, taught the nursing health program for high school students, hospice care and back to the hospital. I have taken care of the sweet confused as well as the really confused.. we have to be patient and understanding as they can't help it but we also have to provide a secure safe environment.. Everyone is struggling these days and sometimes we just need a smile or laugh and to feel cared about and provide them dignity even when they don't understand. Hospice was the most rewarding job I ever had. To have the privilege of helping them and their families during such difficult times and to be able to help provide them the opportunity to be home with their family was such a privilege.
