Experience: 10 yrs
I have taken care of children most of my life! I assisted with my mother's in-home daycare growing up, babysat through high school, worked in many roles with infants thru school-age children at the YMCA, and worked with special needs children in the school district. I was a preschool teacher for 15 years, teaching at the Dodge Nature Preschool for 10 of that. I have raised two children of my own and have experience with multiples (triplets). I've loved being a nanny over the past decade, and having the privilege of seeing infants through to school-age. I am CPR/First Aid certified and have attended countless workshops/conferences over my career, focusing on everything from arts to literacy to ASD. My favorite things to do with children: reading, singing/music, messy/sensory play, open-ended crafts/projects/construction, attending story-times, going on outings to playgrounds, nature areas and anywhere outdoors!
Reference - (Previously Employed Brenda) We may never be able to fully capture the impact Brenda has had on our family over the four years she was with us. From the day she joined us, she brought a steady, calming presence and a joyful energy that immediately put both us and our children at ease. Brenda cared for our daughters with not only professionalism and reliability, but also with deep thoughtfulness and genuine warmth. One of the qualities we appreciated most was her passion for connecting children with nature. Whether it was long walks collecting leaves and pinecones, afternoons spent exploring local parks, rainy-day puddle jumping, or backyard picnics with story time under the trees, she made the outdoors a meaningful and consistent part of our girls’ daily lives. Her ability to integrate nature into everyday learning helped shape the way our daughters see the world—curious, grounded, and full of wonder. She naturally wove learning into play, encouraging creativity, emotional development, and confidence along the way. In addition to her strong connection with children, Brenda is dependable, organized, and proactive. She communicates clearly, collaborates well with parents, and creates consistent routines that provide both structure and flexibility. This consistency gave our children a strong sense of security and space to thrive. Brenda’s strengths would make her an excellent fit not only as a nanny but in any early childhood education setting. Her patience, intentional approach, and ability to meet children where they are make her an exceptional caregiver and educator. She supports children’s growth with calm guidance and thoughtful engagement—socially, emotionally, and developmentally. As we move into a new chapter, we’re incredibly grateful for the care and countless memories Brenda gave our family. Any home or school community would be fortunate to have her.
