I understand that sometimes the smallest things, such as helping with daily tasks, providing companionship, preparing a meal, or simply taking the time to listen, can make a big difference in someone's day. I wanted to do work where I could feel like my time and effort were actually helping another person. Through my experience as a caregiver, I have learned the importance of patience, compassion, communication, and treating every person with dignity and respect. I also understand that everyone has different needs, routines, personalities, and levels of independence. Caregiving has also played a part in my growing interest in healthcare. I am currently attending Medical Assistant school, where I am continuing my education. For me, caregiving is about more than completing tasks. It is about building trust, being dependable, and helping someone feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
