We interviewed several candidates and offered her the position, which she accepted. We were genuinely excited to get started. Unfortunately, about four hours before her first scheduled shift (after a three-week lead time), she called to say there was a family emergency and that she needed to withdraw. I truly hope everything is okay on her end, but the last-minute cancellation left us without childcare and out the time and money spent on the process, including turning down other candidates. She was very nice in our interactions, but the outcome was extremely disruptive for our family.
