Caregiving is not a cookie cutter job. I feel being aware if this is one of the more important aspects. I have had the privilege to care for many individuals, both in private settings as well as running a small assisted living facility. I have also had the honor of caring for my father for two years. Most of the individuals that I have cared for have had a diagnosis of some form of dementia or other similar diagnosis such as: Alzheimers, Parkinson's, TBIs and Autism to name a few. The care included helping with everyday activities such as: getting up, going to bed, bathing, dressing, medication administering, cooking, cleaning etc. In some cases it included spa days, church services, doctors/therapy visits, overnight trips etc. Ultimately, my goal is to provide quality of life and dignity through respect, compassion and love. I have had the privilege of taking care of one of sweetest elderly gentleman for the past 3 1/2 years. I treasure my time spent with my patients.
