About Bettie

I'm primarily an SAT tutor with 8 years of experience. I was a high scorer in high school and attended Yale, where I studied psychology. I use my knowledge about how learning works to give students specific strategies to improve their scores. I also trained as a therapist and am able to build relationships with students, which is supportive for students with test anxiety. I have helped students with large score jumps in the past! I use my own college application successes (accepted to Yale and Brown, as well as several other highly competitive schools) to help students with college essays. I am also able to tutor elementary and middle school, study skills, and AP Psychology, Statistics, Language, Literature, US history, European History, and review college essays! I'd describe my personality as warm, confident, and responsible I like tutoring because I love seeing students get a real benefit from working with me by improving their scores and feeling more prepared for college!
