Betsy is an experienced educator who I interviewed last fall for a full-time position as instructor for a "pod" of first graders whose families had opted for a home schooling situation. As her supervisor it was immediately clear that Betsy was and is a skillful, knowledgeable teacher. Her lessons are well organized, clear and, perhaps most importantly, interesting. Her students loved the challenges that Betsy brought to them and they have excelled in their work. Betsy taught the children all subjects but her work with reading and writing was instrumental in helping young, tentative beginners not only meet but exceed grade-level standards.
