I was a nurses assistant in the hospital for about two years on the trauma unit and I was a nurses assistant in a nursing home for about two years. I do not have a license both of the facilities that I worked at were teaching facilities, but you are not required to be in nursing school for them. I have a bachelors degree in animal science and I also went to a technical college for pre-nursing for two years so that's how I got into the nursing assistant field, technically I would be called a patient care technician, but my responsibilities included bathing cleaning light house keeping checking vitals feeding monitoring patients with mental instability redressing wounds and I also took care of of a lady in my hometown while she was bedbound and at the end of life.
