About Bethany

Hello fellow parents. My name is Bethany. I am 32 years old, married, and have an amazing 3-year-old son. I am originally born and raised in Woonsocket, RI but have only recently returned after spending the past 2 1/2 years in North Carolina. While it was nice living closer to my husband's family and getting to learn a different culture (it's more different than you think), the south did not have much to offer my family. I did, however, obtain a certification in Massage Therapy and currently hold a license in NC; I am just waiting for the state of RI to issue me one for their state. During the past few weeks I have not been working, but I did take that time to realize my work potential, and that massage is not all I want to be doing with my life. I want to help people/families in any way I can, from childcare, cooking healthy meals, house cleaning, of course massage, to animal care and even some light yard work as well. I have multiple talents and would like to put them to use. As for childcare experience, I have had several nanny jobs ranging from one child to four, some accompanied by my child as well, ages ranging from newborn to preteen, boys and girls. A few of the children I cared for had some special care needs, as well as health/religious dietary restrictions. My son and I are also gluten and dairy free. I worked for an Indian family and had to conform to their vegetarian/ethnic ways to prepare meals. Another family was Jewish and followed with kosher meal prep, as well as other restrictions during Passover and other holidays. My special needs care includes working with the hearing impaired; hearing aids and infant sign language, cleft lip/pallet care/feeding, GI feeding tubes, vision impairment, delayed development and helping them catch up both physically and mentally. I also hold a current certification in infant through adult first aid/CPR/AED from the Red Cross. Before I leave you to make your decision about me I would like to add that I would be looking to bring my son with me. Not all of the time; we are looking into getting him in a Pre-K program but they are not every day nor all day.
