I'm enrolled at Augusta University in neuroscience, pre-med track toward psychiatry, so I bring real understanding of mental health, dementia, and cognitive change to every client. My first private client was a 97-year-old man with dementia needing 24-hour care. I cooked, did laundry, managed meds, helped him shower, kept him safe on his feet. What I didn't expect was loving the conversation - stories about Chicago, Texas, the Dust Bowl, a whole century of life. Six hours felt like one.
