About Benjamin

I was born with a speech impediment so severe no one outside my family understood me. As a result, I became a very shy and withdrawn person. In high school, I adopted a sink or swim approach to improvement. I wrote stories, joined a competitive public speaking team, and filmed short movies. By the time I graduated, I realized communication wasn't scary. It is fun. I took my new love and double majored in English and Communications at Trinity Christian College, where I graduated summa cum laude, with honors, and a 3. 96 GPA. Afterward, I attended Second City's Film School to learn improv and filmmaking skills. Since then I've worked as a writing tutor, a reporter, a screenwriter, and even as a film director. I owe everything to the teachers who gave me confidence in myself. Therefore, I became a tutor to help children with similar issues share their voices become strong, confident communicators.
