About Bec

As an animal lover, I have spent most of my life around animals in and outside of the home. I grew up on a hobby farm with fish, cats, dogs, sheep, and chickens. I went to college to study wildlife biology and spent a dream semester abroad in East Africa. During graduate school, I walked dogs professionally to earn extra money (and experience joy). After graduating from college, I was rarely able to find an apartment that would allow pets, so I took care of pets as often as I could, mostly house sitting for cats and dogs or walking dogs. When I was a teacher, I had several classroom pets including an axolotl and a leopard gecko. In the summers I worked on farms, taking care of dogs, cats, cows, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, pigs, and sheep. Here in Philadelphia, I am in a living situation where I can't have a pet long term. I look forward to filling my life here with the care of other people's pets in the meantime :)
