About Barrett

I am here because I believe there is joy that can be found in helping others. I am a certified Emergency Medical Technician. My passion however, is in childhood education. I strongly believe that positive interactions with adults, are important in childhood. I have been working for years to break down the stigma around men working in childcare. I have experience working with children of all ages. I have been a volunteer with Special Olympics, and a counselor at the Lutheran Camp Association. I have a creative mind & I absolutely love creating art & projects for children. I encourage creativity & imagination in any child that I can be a mentor to. I am also a strong believer in activities. I think that crossing mental creativity with physical activity is key to a child's development. As a final note: In my career as an EMT I worked with all age groups, in both hospital & pre-hospital settings. I am aware of what to do in an emergency. I also know how to mitigate & avoid emergencies.
