After my mom passed, I began caring for clients with dementia, COPD, heart disease, MS, cancer & other chronic diseases/life-threatening illnesses. I have experience w/ Palliative & Hospice & have also provided end-of-life care. I focus on P/T, respite, fill-in & short(er)-term care, whether 1 day, 1 week or 1 month +. I help w/ basic needs including ADLs, meds, meals, light cleaning & pet care. I also offer transportation to/from med appts., same-day surgeries, shopping, social & wellness activities, etc. I am vaxed, CPR/FA cert. & do not smoke. Barb was great. Even though this was just a short-term role covering for our regular caregiver, she really took the time to get to know my mom and appreciate her, which meant a lot to us. She was warm, chatty, and friendly, and my mom really enjoyed spending time with her. She was also very empathetic to what my mom might have been feeling, especially since she had just moved to a new facility. She was reliable and kept us informed about how my mom was doing, and brought a few things to our attention that she needed or wanted. She was flexible and even willing to pick up a prescription for my mom at the last minute, which we really appreciated. I would definitely recommend her as a companion and would hire her again.
