I am a thoughtful & trustworthy caregiver offering personal & companionship care to those experiencing various stages of dementia &/or loss of cognitive &/or physical functions. 

After caring for my own mother, I understand the importance of finding compassionate, reliable help. After my mom passed, I began caring for clients with dementia, COPD, heart disease, MS, cancer & other chronic diseases/life-threatening illnesses. I have experience w/ Hospice providing palliative/end-of-life care. I am vaxed, CPR/FA cert. & do not smoke.

My focus is on P/T, respite, fill-in & short(er)-term care, whether 1 day, week or month +. I assist w/ ADLs, meds, meals, light cleaning & pets. I provide transport to/from med appts/procedures, shopping, social & wellness activities, etc. I care greatly about each client as a whole person, extending beyond basic physical needs.

Barbara has been caring for a family member while I have been recuperating from a serious fall.   She has treated him superbly with respect, kindness, devotion, intelligence, patience and humor. I trust her instincts to the utmost. 

Barb was great. Even though this was just a short-term role covering for our regular caregiver, she really took the time to get to know my mom and appreciate her, which meant a lot to us.

She was warm, chatty, and friendly, and my mom really enjoyed spending time with her. She was also very empathetic to what my mom might have been feeling, especially since she had just moved to a new facility.

She was reliable and kept us informed about how my mom was doing, and brought a few things to our attention that she needed or wanted.

She was flexible and even willing to pick up a prescription for my mom at the last minute, which we really appreciated.

I live alone and needed to and from transportation for a medical procedure and contacted Barb. She is reliable, kind, caring and just a wonderful human being. We had extra wait time and had an opportunity to visit and she is thoroughly enjoyable. I recommend her services without reservation and won't hesitake to contact her again in the future!!!

Barb has been a wonderful help to me this last year!  She is compassionate and kind and also desires to help in whatever she can. She works to fully understand why care/help is needed. 
Before you know it, she feels like family!  She's a great companion for those desiring that.
 
I needed help driving to appointments. She is a safe driver and has no issues navigating to various locations around the Portland metro area. She even will take my little dog to his grooming appointments. A lover of pets!
She helps with light house keeping as needed or requested.  And also assist with meal prep or even does the whole meals if desired.  Barb loves to cook so you will get tasty food! 
She will run errands for me but at the same time if I desire to go we will go together. It usually turns into fun outing.
She encourages/works to get me out of the house if she knows it would be good for me.
I know a daily walk is good for me so it's great to have company. I am alone too much,
I struggle with fibromyalgia, chronic headaches and migraines so sometimes I just need things to be quiet.  She honors that.
I totally appreciate that Barb has had the CoVid vaccines and boosters.  Also that she is a non-smoker.

She is open to feedback which keeps our working relationship running smoothly.  If there are specific tasks, errands, etc for the day she does really well with a list.
She's highly qualified as a caregiver! 


Barb has been helping my 82 year old mom who has dementia since August 2022.   Besides taking care of appointments, errands, etc,  Barb brings laughter and fun to my mom's life.  My mom always enjoys her time with Barb and comments on how she feels safe and comfortable with her.   My mom can be a naysayer and quite stubborn but somehow Barb will get her to try things.  She does this with patience and humor.   

Barbara is amazing! I have had her come and sit with my 93 year old mother several times. Mom is hard of hearing, can't see and has mild dementia. She loves Barbara. I highly recommend Barbara for any service. She is very dependable and goes above and beyond expectations.

This was my first time having to hire a caregiver for my father who has dementia. I was very nervous leaving him, but Barbara made me feel at ease from the beginning at our initial meeting. She was thorough with questions regarding his daily routine and was always quick to communicate any questions or concerns she had regarding his routine or health. He thoroughly enjoyed her company and even asked about her after we return home! Because of Barbara's excellent care my family and I were able to take a much needed vacation knowing that he was receiving the best of care. I have already ask she return to care for him in the future. I could not have asked for a better caregiver.

Barbara was the primary caregiver for my MIL. She is extremely compassionate, organized and experienced in senior care management. She treated my MIL with the utmost respect and dignity that she deserved. She put a system in place for all other caregivers to document their experiences (food intake, sleep, bed changes, etc) during their individual shifts so there was always a point of reference for each of them. A secondary notebook logged her vitals, and time and dosage of each of her meds. She kept in contact with extended family and the hospice team to keep everyone up to date as her health began to seriously decline. Barbara would be an asset to any family having to care take a dying family member, but also a huge help just in managing the day to day tasks of any elderly relative that can no longer care for themselves without assistance.

Barb began taking care of Mom October 2019, while she lived in Assisted Living. In November Mom transitioned from Palliative to Hospice care. As her health declined, we moved her back home in January 2020. For nine months Barb has made sure that Mom was physically and emotionally cared for. Barb is such a special and loving person. She is a friend, confidant and member of our family.

Barbara continually went above and beyond with my parents. She was always kind, compassionate, dependable, skilled and helpful for them. Not only was she an excellent caregiver for my dad with dementia, but became a friend and companion for my mom. Barb regularly made suggestions that made my parents safer and more comfortable in their home. She always looked out for their best interests and well being. We were all very sad to see her move away. You will be pleased to have Barbara caring for your family if you can hire her.
