I am a fun-loving, warm and compassionate woman with more than 20 years experience of working closely with seniors and their loved ones. As a retired executive director of New Bridge on the Charles' assisted living community in Dedham, I have a true passion and understanding of what it takes to care for and support elders and their families- with an expertise in Alzheimer's and dementia. I'm looking to provide companionship to seniors in and/or out of their home or other living environment. I'm available to accompany to medical and beauty appointments, cook, do light housekeeping, laundry, read, pay bills and most importantly provide support and friendship. I have great references, am very flexible and have my own car. Hourly rate may be negotiable for the right fit.

I can't speak highly enough of Barbara and how she enriched my Mother's and my life. I was so fortunate to find her on this website. I consider her a complete Godsend since I had been looking for someone to keep my Mother company for a long time. My Mother has dementia and I have been her only caregiver for the last two years. She is very particular and had rejected numerous people I had introduced her to. One or two times with these people and she sent them packing. When Barbara walked in and began to speak with her in such a warm and respectful way, I knew we had found the right person. Her credentials precede her and are most impressive, but it is her nurturing touch, her sense of humor, her patience and professionalism with an added dose of life experience that makes Barbara quite unique. Mother wanted a companion to take her out, but got so much more in the six months they were together. She found a friend and so did I.
