To Families looking for the needle in a haystack, the absolute best of the best, It is with the deepest admiration and affection that we write this letter of recommendation for Barbara—affectionately known in our home as “Nanny B.” Barbara has been an integral part of our family for the past three years, caring for our son from the time he was just three months old until now, as he begins pre-school. Saying goodbye to her in this daily role is truly one of the hardest things we have done as she is such an integral and trusted partner and member of our family now. Barbara is everything you could ever hope for in a nanny—and so much more. She provided not only the most loving, attentive, and thoughtful care for our son, but also invaluable support, guidance and reassurance to us as first-time parents. Her extensive experience and deep understanding of early childhood development gave us confidence in her every decision and suggestion. Her ability to gently guide us away from common early parenting pitfalls helped us establish healthy habits and routines that have set our son, and our family, up for success. She brings a calm confidence to everything she does, balancing warmth with wisdom. From the very beginning, Barbara fostered a nurturing environment that helped our son develop and thrive emotionally, socially, and cognitively. She prioritized outdoor time, learning opportunities, and rich social interactions—from zoo visits to library story hours to local museums and play spaces and playing in our neighborhood with the other children—all while maintaining a comforting, developmentally appropriate daily schedule. Barbara's influence on our family has been profound. She is far more than a nanny—she has become a surrogate mother, grandmother, mentor, guide, and cherished friend. Her presence has shaped the foundation of our son's development and future, and we will always be incredibly grateful for the role she has played in our lives.
