About Barbara

I fell in love with childcare when my oldest nephew was born 43 years ago. I was not yet 10 years old. A few years (and two more nephews) later, I was babysitting all around the neighborhood and continued to do so through college--and for one family, beyond--a very busy surgeon's wife would call even after I had begun my "real world" career, apologizing for asking, but knowing that their children, (including their autistic son) were safe and loved with me. I also worked as a day camp director during college summers. A few years later, my husband and I started our own family. I have spent the past 25 years raising 6 amazing children. My youngest son is 13, very independent, and bigger than me now! My years of experience have brought out the best in my patience, perseverance, flexibility, and ability to have fun. I find children to be so very genuine and smart, they are a joy to be around. I'm excited to meet your family!
