I have been the care giver for a bright young man deprived of some oxygen at birth. For over four years I have had the pleasure of staying with him in his home every Wednesday . I enjoy taking this great guy out somewhere new every week; we go to lunch, to parks, to the mall and all over. Also for several years I often stayed with another young man who had a form of Asperger's, is very highly functioning, and with special classes graduated from high school and one year of Kirkwood. In another job I enjoyed working with a highly intelligent mentally ill teen as he completed courses in home schooling. As a retired school teacher and now a part time test scorer for ETS and Pearson, I am seeking more work with special needs people, usually a one on one situation. I am flexible and can adjust to each person individually and assist the person in the best ways. Excellent references available.
