About Avery

Hello my name is Avery! I am a 21-year-old, queer, college student who is passionate about teaching, childcare, and science. I have been in the childcare space since I was an early teen, and within the last few years I have worked for Champions (an accredited before/afterschool program and preschool), and with many families with children ranging from 7 months to 12 years. These jobs have allowed me to gain experience in supporting and disciplining students using gentle methods, responsive caregiving, activity planning, tutoring, and teaching emotional regulation. My most important qualities include being compassionate, respectful, and kind to all individuals regardless of age. I do my best to maintain every child's dignity and autonomy, so that they feel they are in a safe and secure environment
