About Ava

Hi there! My name is Ava, and I'm a college student majoring in Education with a passion for helping children build strong academic foundations and confidence in learning. I have over two years of experience working with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, and I'm DCF certified in child development, health and safety, and positive guidance. My main focus is working with preschool through second grade--building phonics, reading fluency, and early math skills--but I'm also open to tutoring students up to eighth grade in core subjects. I love creating engaging, structured lessons that make learning fun and meaningful while helping children grow at their own pace. Families describe me as patient, dependable, and encouraging. Whether I'm supporting early readers, reinforcing classroom material, or building study habits, I aim to make every child feel capable, confident, and proud of their progress.
