On November 26 of this year, Ava accepted a position to nanny for our 15 month old daughter. My husband and I are in corporate and needed a reliable, kind person to care for our daughter half days. We interviewed Ava, really enjoyed her bubbly spirit and offered her the job a few days later. She accepted, agreed to train on December 11 & 15 and then onboard officially with us on December 29. On December 10, I contacted Ava to confirm she would be coming the next day to shadow our current nanny. She texted to say she had a family emergency and could not make it, but she would be with us on December 15 as planned. We felt concerned at her lack of clear communication, but we respected that a true emergency may have indeed arisen. On December 13, Ava wrote to say that she accepted a different position and would not be working for us at all! She had never communicated that she was interviewing for different jobs. She never communciated a tentative yes to us. She confirmed she would be joining our family and working for us and then retracted her agreement entirely leaving our family without childcare in the middle of the holidays. If you are seeking reliability, honesty and forthright communication, we cannot, in good conscious, recoomend Ava.
