About Autumn

I have a lot of experience working with special needs children, including nonverbal autistic kids. I spent years caring for my siblings who were diagnosed with autism, and then spent six months working as a paraprofessional for a severe developmental needs room at an elementary school. I have a lot of empathy, patience, creativity and flexibility that helps me a lot when I work with children with unique needs. I like to have fun with children, engage and play and joke and laugh. I take a very active role with children as at my old role a lot of what we did was play therapy/social skills practice. I am first aid, CPR, and AED trained from infants to adults by the American Heart Association. I am currently a per diem Substitute Teacher for Northampton Montessori for children who are toddler age through fifth grade. In my spare time, I like to read, hike, draw, play guitar, sing, travel, swim, dance! I'm an artist at heart. I love to watch movies as well.
