About Austin

Hi I'm Austin! Ive worked with children for 17 years primarily as a Neurodivergent Learning Specialist. So, I specialize in tutoring and mentoring kids age 5-17 who have special needs and IEPs. My focus is building their confidence as the primary means of improving their academic skills. I have tutored over 25 students since 2009. I have also been an ESL teacher in Spain, Mexico and SD. So I'm fluent in and can teach Spanish! In 2024, I worked with a 5th grade boy with all Ds. He had ADHD and poor emotion regulation. I helped him with his HW, taught him coping skills and used techniques to build his confidence. 4 months later he had all As and Bs! Last year, I tutored 5 students, including a boy of 15 and girl of 16, both with autism and depression, and failing all classes. With my help, within 2 months, they both were passing or better all classes. This year, I tutored a 14-year-old with autism and ID October to January. I'm currently working on my Masters to become an MFT.
