About Derowen

As a recent Master's graduate from the University of Amsterdam, I have a wide breadth of interdisciplinary knowledge matched with years of experience both nannying and tutoring children from about 4 to 14 years old. I have provided in-school tutoring to middle schoolers, supporting their ELA classes and comprehension, as well as have provided homework supervision and assistance for families I have been an after-school nanny for. While I personally have a love for history and English, I feel very comfortable guiding younger learners through all of their basic subjects and refreshing my own knowledge regularly to make sure I can meet their learning needs. My approach is compassionate, fun, and patient as I work from an awareness that every student learns differently and deserves engaging activities to connect subjects to their individual interests!
