Unprofessional and Snappy. I am usually very reluctant to write negative reviews. However, in this instance I had to make an exception. I posted a detailed job posting for a full-time, weekday nanny for my babies. Atalaya was one of the first to apply with a very lengthy message of her credentials and what she could offer. I responded to her message asking if she would be available for a face-to-face interview the following week. Her response was full of questions that had already been specified in the job description and the job posting. This lead me to believe that she never read the job posting, just copied and paste her credentials and applied. After requesting a face-to-face interview Atalaya responded with a message saying that she would prefer a phone interview before face-to-face interviews as "that is how it's done here on Care.com". As I explain to Atalaya we as parents use Care.com as a third-party to connect with babysitters, caregivers etc for our care needs. I had absolutely no problem with accommodating her with a public meeting place as I understand Covid has us all rattled. I was met with no response. As I explained to Atalaya it is totally up to the poster's discretion on how they would like to conduct their interviews. As an applicant, if you are not comfortable and would prefer a different process than what is offer there is a way to specify that professionally without being snappy or telling the interviewer how they should conduct their interview. My hope is that this would be a learning lesson that she would be able to grow from as I understand that she is young. However, as an applicant you are requesting access into someone's home where you do not know the family dynamics and have access to their most prized possession...their loved ones. Being snappy and unprofessional are definitely red flags when considering any business relationship. I hope this helps.

We are new to Austin and were very anxious to get a babysitter from online. We took a chance and I can't express how happy I am we got Atalaya! First of all, she didn't just send her application but added a personal note to it which I found was very nice and definitely professional. Our communication was very clear and on point. She kept us updated throughout the night. We have two boys (7&1). My older told me in the morning that he loves her and wants her to come back! I would definitely recommend Atalaya as she proved to be a professional, punctual and trust worthy person with a loving personality and a beautiful smile! I'm keeping her contact for the future. One more thing, as a pet friendly home we suggested her to bring her pup along; OMG, a super cute, happy and most importantly very clean and friendly dog! Atalaya, Thank you! :)

Atalaya came through for a last-minute job for us. Our kids enjoyed her a lot and we will definitely reach out to her again.

Atalaya was the first sitter we have hired for our 4-year old son and we were a bit anxious, as most parents are, with strangers, even if with Care Check or reviews.  What stood out for me in Atalaya's response to my post, was she that she was the only one that actually added a personalized note to my request, and not just the form response.  We hired Atalaya, she showed up right on time, she was very friendly, and she and my son hit it off.  She played with him the entire time we were gone, sending us occasional pictures of them together and when we returned and it was time for Atalaya to go, he gave her a hug.  Atalaya gave us a good comfort level as parents and we would, and definitely will, hire her to watch our son again.

Hired her to get my kids to the bus stop this morning- She did it, no issues there. The issue came when I arrived back home for the evening and found that she had ran over a piece of landscaping- not really a big deal- but I did asked her to "please be careful when backing" instead of taking responsibility and simply apologizing, she got an attitude and stated "um it's was dark, and I don't see and issue, and I won't be able to keep your kids tomorrow". Therefore, I am rating her as a 1 star because she is unreliable by stating that she would care for my kids earlier in the day and then when I asked her nicely not to damage my property, she got an attitude and immediately decided she could not keep my kids anymore. Very unprofessional and unreliable!

She took great care of our 10 month old while we were away for the night. My daughter seemed to enjoy her company and woke up this morning happy as usual. Atalaya kept us updated with texts and a picture throughout the night.

She was a perfect fit for our family. I already said we will be using her services again in the future. The kids both enjoyed her company. She took the time to play with my son and my daughter individually. They read books, did lots of drawings, and played with toys. She made them lunch and put them both down for a nap. She even tidied up for us.  She has got an excellent personality and took the time to make a connection with my kids. I couldn't be more pleased.
