About Ashlyn

Hello, my name is Ashlyn. I'd describe my personality as joyful, introspective, and creative. I like tutoring because it is a chance to support kids in discovering their own potential and empowering them to do their best in their learning! I started tutoring when I was in 10th grade and tutored mostly in algebra at the 8th grade to 9th grade level and also in social studies. I also was a an AVID tutor for three years. Here I promoted skills such as writing, inquiry, collaboration, organizing, and reading. I support d students by asking guiding questions to solve their points of confusion in a way that fostered critical thinking and problem solving for the student. In my spare time, I like to watercolor, go hiking, make food with friends, and make music. One thing you should know about me is I love learning and I give 100% in what I do. My tutoring skills include fostering active learning, gamifying lessons, and encouragement in persistent practice.
